The alarm goes off at 6am – quickly tie up the hair, throw on my clothes, tie up the shoes and out the door – the morning is waiting.

Get out early and find that quickly passing sunrise --- hurry! You might miss it!

This is truly the only time of day that really feels like it belongs to me.

Out of the door of the hotel, across the parking lot and to the sidewalk heading west….the sky gets lighter and above the trees to the east, the first morning rays.

There is a bit of nip in the air, and I am grateful for my  hoodie sweatshirt….but I won’t need it for long as I head up an incline following where the side walk leads.

I spot this guy in the field….blow him a couple of kisses, and he comes trotting over!

The morning sunshine greets us both!

He snuffles me, getting used to my scent and I give him a good ear scritching, and away I go---

Which way do we go? I don’t know this area….but I choose to go right – further up hill.

And there on the crest of a rise are the ruins of an old stone cottage, its thatched roof gone for centuries, only the stones remaining to tell the story of the family that called this dwelling HOME.

Green fields edged with hawthorn trees--

Hawthorn trees are in bloom everywhere ---they are so lovely!

Lovelier still…a patch of wild daisies carpeting this gateway ---

Faces turned toward the morning sunshine….we are all enjoying this morning!

Further up the road, a little grotto behind a church – a parishioner stopping on bicycle to light a candle.

YES! Lilacs are blooming in Galway!

And so is the laundry!

There is a lake in the way background, but I don’t think you can see it in this photo ---

This little guy was perched on a fence post at the end of a drive –I said good morning to him too!

And look who came back over for more scritching on the way back to the hotel?!

It’s a good thing I headed straight to the shower, I was a bit horsey after giving this sweetheart some more love!   Love the small white star on its forehead ---We’ve visited this way the past two mornings –will we do it again tomorrow? I hope so!

This morning classes start.  I can hear folks milling about the corridor getting ready to head down to breakfast…and my hair is still wet.  It’s time to get a move on this day --- now that I’ve had time for myself, I feel like I could take on the world….

Bring it on!
